April 2024 was an exhilarating month for slot car racing, as BRM Model Cars hosted two significant legs of the BRM Youngtimer Trophy. Enthusiasts and teams from around the globe competed in these prestigious events, which are rapidly becoming a highlight on the international slot car racing calendar.
International Flair and Fierce Competition: BRM Youngtimer Trophy 2024 – International
The month kicked off with the international segment of the BRM Youngtimer Trophy 2024 on April 6 and 7. Racers from across the world converged at the esteemed SlotUp club in Roncole Verdi to showcase their skills and the capabilities of their meticulously prepared slot cars.
After an intense series of six races, the SST Gecko Team from Spain claimed the top spot, demonstrating exceptional strategy and skill. They were closely followed by fellow Spaniards, the CricCrac Team, and the Team Geneva from Switzerland, which finished in third place. Not just a contest of speed, the event also celebrated design and style, with Ane Slot Racing from Austria winning the Concours d’Elegance for their stunning liveries.
The top ten teams from this event have now secured their spots in the highly anticipated September finals. The spirit of competition was matched by camaraderie and flawless organization by SlotUp, making the event a memorable one for participants and spectators alike.
Showcasing Local Talent: BRM Youngtimer Trophy 2024 – Italy
The excitement continued the following weekend, April 13 and 14, with the Italian leg of the Youngtimer Trophy. The races featured the “big minicars” models like NSU, R8, and SIMCA, providing thrilling entertainment on the plastic Scaleauto PRO track.
BO SLOT ROSSO from Bologna emerged victorious with their stunning A112, leading the pack followed by the Tuscany Club and the young and spirited MI-NA team. The results showcased not only the growth of individual teams but also the evolution of slot car racing technology and strategy.
